About Jordan

Jordan is a country that seamlessly blends the old and the new, offering a journey through time and culture. The capital city, Amman, is a bustling metropolis with modern infrastructure juxtaposed against ancient ruins. The Amman Citadel and the Roman Amphitheater are testament to the city's historical layers.

Petra, often referred to as the "Rose City," is a highlight of any visit to Jordan. Carved into pink sandstone cliffs, this Nabatean city is a masterpiece of ancient architecture. The Treasury and the Monastery are iconic structures that reveal the ingenuity of the Nabateans.

For those seeking adventure, Wadi Rum's otherworldly landscapes beckon. Known as the Valley of the Moon, it's a vast desert wilderness with towering sandstone mountains, narrow canyons, and ancient petroglyphs. Jeep tours and camel treks provide an immersive experience.

The Dead Sea, a natural wonder, is renowned for its high salt content, allowing visitors to effortlessly float on its buoyant waters. The therapeutic mud of the Dead Sea is also famous for its skin benefits.

Throughout Jordan, the warmth of its people and their traditions add a special charm to every visit. From savoring traditional dishes like mansaf to exploring lively souks, Jordan invites travelers to embrace its unique blend of history, nature, and culture.

JORDAN'S CLIMATE INSIGH

weather in general

When preparing for your journey to Jordan, it's prudent to consider the upcoming climate conditions to pack accordingly. Jordan experiences dry, hot summers with pleasantly cool evenings. The Jordan Valley, situated 400 meters below sea level, maintains warmth during winter and becomes intensely hot in the summer months. Aqaba, in contrast, features a drier and hotter climate compared to the rest of the country, with temperatures averaging about 10 degrees Celsius higher than those in Amman. Rainfall is typically observed between November and April, primarily in the central and northern mountain ranges. The coldest weather conditions occur in December and January.

Essential Travel Tips and FAQs

Passport/Visa Information
To visit Jordan, you'll need a valid passport with an expiration date at least 6 months beyond the end of your trip. For most visitors, a Tourist Visa can be easily purchased upon arrival at any airport, port, or border—except for the King Hussein/Allenby Bridge border, where a visa must be arranged in advance. Depending on your nationality, you may need to get your visa before arriving. It's a good idea to check the latest requirements on the website www.visitjordan.com or contact your local Jordanian Embassy. A single-entry visa currently costs JD40 for all nationalities. However, GO JORDAN offers the convenience of securing a free visa for all its customers, as long as passport details are provided before arrival. Our representative will be there to greet you at the airport with a sign displaying your name, and will assist with all the necessary formalities before you pass through immigration.

When taking photos during your travels in Jordan, it's good to be mindful of local customs and regulations. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

Ask for Permission: Always ask for permission before photographing people. Your guide can help you with this and make sure you approach locals in a friendly manner.

Avoid Sensitive Locations: Please avoid taking photos of military installations or airports. These areas are restricted, and photographing them could lead to misunderstandings or legal issues.

Protect Your Camera: The desert environment can be quite dusty, so it's a good idea to keep your camera in a dust-proof bag or cover to protect it from sand and dust.
